Wignac Cider

I have just discovered this lovely cider which has zero alcohol content and is widely available on line in the UK.

Its sparkling and sweet and will be great for coiffing in the summer months!

If like me you cannot tolerate alcohol because of medication, this is a great find

Thank you for that, it’s on my list, love a cider in a warmer month and no longer can tolerate alcohol.

Take care

Hello :-)

Sounds nice I shall have to take a look at that :-)

I also like Shloer which comes in different flavours tastes a bit like wine to me and I have it as a treat because even though alcohol free it contains sugar and as I can have a sweet tooth I have to watch what I am doing :-)

Now we just need the Summer ! :-) x

Oh me too and thats why I love this cider. Its sweet so moderation is probably the key BeKind. Its good to see that suppliers are making more non alcoholic drinks for us hearties!

Hello :-)

If you like that to no doubt we have similar taste so I can imagine I will like the cider to :-)

I have not had a drink now in 29 years and I do not miss it at all and now with all these medications it is a good job but it is nice to have something a little different so you feel you are having a treat :-) x

They are now creating new non-alcohol drinks on the Apprentice now...

Because I am diabetic I avoid most because of the sugar content! I have tried a few non-alcoholic wines and in general they taste like dodgy fruit juice... ☹️

Thats the trouble. If they don't fill them full of sugar, they put loads of sweeteners like Aspartame in them and thats more harmful than sugar. I like some of the zero alcohol lagers like San Miguel which aren't too sweet.

Here's the analysis:

12.2g of carbs and 0g of sugar in a 330ml bottle of standard San Miguel (5%) vs 18g of carbs and 5.6g of sugar in a 330ml bottle of San Miguel “0.0” (0%)

Meta analysis and a peer-to-peer review of barbecues and other previous online events suggests the low sugar version! 🤣🤣🤣

I watched that last night, I didn't fancy either of the drinks they manufactured.

I was surprised how bad they were (and that's just the contestants). ☹️

I love the Apprentice and always watch it, I also used to watch the celeb one from the USA with Donald (Trump). I suppose being a typical person I am never comfortable blowing my own trumpet but that is not a problem for the contestants on the show. Most of them are most certainly arrogant but in many ways that is what entertains us. Glad it is back this year even if making non alcoholic drinks is certainly not something they are good at.

A couple of the non alcoholic gins are quite good. Also the bierre moretti is a pretty good lager sub.

Can you buy the gin in small bottles? I know Gordon's do one but it would take me a year to drink it!

I'm not sure. I'll check and see if theres a use by date on them, I have a couple and let you know.

How the hell are you supposed to get hammered on zero alcohol drinks. What a waste of time.x

Hello

I do wonder what is the point, may as well drink Iron Brew and imagine you have Vodka in it.

The point is it is nice to have a choice when you go out socialising. I love to have a lager or a cider but I can't take alcohol. This is an ideal alternative. I'm not forcing you to try it , I'm just recommending an alternative.

Now not looking for a fight but

I see non Alchol drinks as a rip off look at the Price and wonder why !! I

t's like Veg Sausage they are not Sausage they are Vegatables, Sausages contains Meat . Pork or Beef . Gin contains Alcohol, Cider contains Alcohol !!

I agree, I won't buy non alcoholic drinks, if I am not drinking I would prefer a soft drink such as a lime and soda or a diet coke. I just don't see the point of pretending to drink alcohol. I love cider especially the Strongbow dark fruit and have a treat now and again, but if I wasn't drinking that I would just have a soft drink.I have no issue if people choose the non alcohol choices but for the cost v taste, I do prefer other options.

As always JMHO.

I bet you're fun to go out with. We don't all want to get "hammered" we just want an alternative to soft drinks.

Hi Becks

I will buy you a G & T any day ,you sound like you could be fun. Can't wait for the Sun to come out and put the awing over the decking lie back and enjoy a Becks not Alcholol free though lol

I am not sure if it is a case of getting hammered. I just prefer the taste of some soft drinks over alcohol pretend drinks. I don't mind a mocktail or 2 every now and again but they tend to use a lot of fruit juices that play havoc with my acid reflux (growing old does not come alone does it) LOL!!

I was told by my Consultant to concentrate on the things you can do rather than those you can't. I can't drink alcohol but I like the taste of lager and cider so rather than deprive myself I look for good alternatives. There are so many bad things in soft drinks or diet drinks (look up aspartame) which would put you off. You,re right about this getting old malarkey- not much fun, is it?

Sometimes the only choice is a glass of water!! LOL
