I was told by my heart consultant that I had mild valve regurgitation about 5 yrs ago. My only symptoms were strong night time palpitations, nothing else. Over the past few years my palipitaions have been getting worse but my doctor says my valve situation is no worse...so my question is " what are the typical symptoms of a leaky valve thats getting worse"..I have no breathing or excercise problems and I walk for an hour every day and go to the gym 3 times per week without any diificulty ....I take medication for the palpitations but it is clearly not working....things just don't add up.

Heart valve problem or not ?
I write with a measure of reassurance to you...itmay help. I was diagnosed with a leaky tricuspid valve a very long time ago....maybe 2010. It is now severe.I am 83 so surgery is risky even with a TAVI .The up side is I walk well, mostly for an hour or more each day and am more active than most of my age. Sort what you can .It may be a very long time before you need surgery if at all.
I've had a moderately leaky mitral valve for at least 10 years. I'm supposed to get an echocardiogram every year, although the latest is pretty overdue, probably because of Covid. I also get ectopics for which I take 2.5 mg bisoprolol. It sounds like you're pretty fit, and so as long as you get a pretty regular echo, and don't get breathlessness, I wouldn't worry too much.
I do find the more you think about ectopics, the more noticeable they become, which is why you notice them at night. If you're really worried, you can ask for a 24 ECG monitor, if you've not had one.
