I was rushed to hospital with a severe pericarditis attack two days ago, I’m still in pain and difficult to breath, I’m in a high powered job with lots of pressure and stresses, I’m thinking of stepping down as I now feel this Has caused my symptoms, can it be stress related? Every time I think about work or receive an email I panick and my symptoms seem to get worse. I seriously don’t know what to do.

Hello
The shock of what has happened will make stress worse including the stress of your job
I think I would wait till I settled down before I decided what to do and then if I still felt the same that would say to me that is what I need to do
I wonder if you could have a week or two of work you might feel different after a little break
I hope your stress levels settle down as it is awful when we start feeling this way
Try and relax and I hope things feel better soon x
Bless you you need to rest and heal, could you cut down your hours and someone step in ? They thought I had covid pericarditis I too was rushed to hospital it turned out I had myocarditis inflammation of the heart not the sac around it ( pericarditis) I am week nine and am very unwell backwards and forwards to hospital with breathing problems arrithmia problems I don’t think they know what to do with me I’m on beta blockers and colchicine .I hope you feel better soon take it easy and be kind to yourself 😊
