Anybody been diagnosed with a slow resting heart rate?
My latest ECG flagged this, so have a phone appointment with a cardiologist just after Christmas .
Could it be the medication?

Yes I was and have a low heart beat average 52 bpm. I was told by my cardiologist that this was fine with no symptoms and only worry if I get symptoms. My heartrate can drop to 46 while watching TV but the medics say thats where they want it to be. I am not sure if they just tell you what you want to hear but since I have no ill effects from it I am not giving it too much thought.
I think it may depend on your heart condition itself as to whether or not your HR is too low. My husband has HF & his HR is low 50's dipping into the 40's. His cardiologist is not happy with it being that low so his ICD has been set to pace him at 50. The problem with having a low HR is it can limit the meds you can take. The cardiologist would like to increase my husband's beta blocker but can't as it lowers the HR!
I have had a low heart rate my whole life, runs in the family. When I was super fit participating in high level competitions through my 20s, it was in mid 30s to low 40s when sitting around; when I was out of shape later in life it would be around 45-50. Recently been diagnosed with CAD at 53, and currently being treated with medication cocktail versus a stent mainly for bifurcated LAD distal lesion. The cocktail includes a minimal dose of beta blocker and my resting heart rate is down to 40 give or take, from ~50. Sleep drops to 30s. I need to account for it when I am exercising to hit my target heart rate. Will add the beta blocker dulls the adrenaline rush i get when my type A personality/anxiety kicks in, working on reducing stress.
