Hi all, I have been diagnosed with severe bicuspid aortic stenosis, and I will be having 'the Ross procedure ' in the new year. Would love to hear of others experience with this.

Many thanks and good health 🙏

For some information before you get other replies it is worth searching on the term "Ross". Here's one thread that came up:

For further information it is worth ringing the BHF nurses for a chat.

Mr Ross also appears occasionally!

Thanks for your reply

Sorry, I had a Davids procedure (why do they all have mens names?) - but I think you will wake up none the wiser for what has happened during surgery and feeling a whole lot better as a result. Looking at the info, it looks a fascinating operation 👍 Hope you manage to find some one who has had the procedure, I never found anyone else who had a Davids Procedure

Hi thanks for your reply. Glad to hear things have gone well, and a a baby is a sure sign of that. I already have children, they are 9 and 5 yrs. I'm sure me and your daughter will now share the same concerns. I would love to hear how she is health wise and how the surgery was.

The surgery and recovery went well. She was operated on the Tuesday and home on the Sunday. She returned to work after 8 weeks. She had her surgery in Bristol.
