Hi Casablanka. I had my heart attack aged 56 - 7 months after I passed my menopause - and I couldn't believe it when I started getting hot flushes again! I was started on a similar drugs cocktail to you, and it took my body about 6 months to get used to them. As you're still having the flushes after a year, it might be worth talking to your cardiac nurse (if you have one), or your GP.

Thank you for your reply. Dont have a rehab nurse any more as told my heart had improved and it is impossable to talk to GP at the moment . I have been told I have emphysema now annd that is why I get short of breath on exercise. One thing after another. Had lung cancer in 2019.

I know what you mean about GPs. I don't bother trying to get through on the phone any more - it's quicker for me to walk to the surgery and talk face to face with a receptionist. That way I normally get somewhere (although I still have to wait 2 or 3 weeks for a phone appt with the GP)!

I get terrible hot flushes but only at night and have done for a few years (I am 64). I am on a variety of medications and to be honest never associated the 2 but I bet it is connected. I am on 11 different medications but the 2 we take the same are aspirin and bisoprosol. I don't have the heating on at night and most nights I have to kick off the duvet and sheet and just sleep in my pj's, it isn't all night but for long periods. I have been taking the bisoprosol for 4 years and that does tie in with when it started. I am not talking about 'the sweats' just over heating. I bought a Simba mattress just before my bypass in 2017 so I had a good mattress and for some time put it down to that as I wondered if it 'breathed' properly. So glad you posted this as I really do think bisoprosol is the cause. It doesn't bother me in any other way so am not to bothered.

Yes I get hot at night too take duvet off then get cold. I thought it was ramipril but really dont know, never get any answers from docs.

I don't take ramipril so tend to think it could be bisoprosol.

What do you take instead of ramipril as it makes me itch like crazy, drives me mad.

Luckily my BP is okay with just taking a beta blocker (bisoprosol 2.5 mg)
