No I don’t get itching with Ramipril but Get a troublesome cough early morning .
Yes I do it drives me mad, I end up poring cold water on me to ease it
Thanyou for your reply. I was told to take allocan anti histamine helps but wears off in evening and you can only take 1 a day. Use antiseptic spray as no cream seems to help at all. Hoapital has just upped my dose as blood pressure too high in mornings. If it gets worse have to ask for something else, but all have side effects. Stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Hi Casablanka, I don't get itching with Ramipril but I do get a very irritating cough a lot of the time. I suggest that you talk to your Cardiologist or GP because there are alternatives out there.
Hello Casablanka {love the name}
Again I am lucky and even at 10mg a day I get no sides from Ramipril, but my sister only had 1.25 a day and said that the itching from it drove her nuts.
She went to her heart failure nurse and was put on another drug which suited her better with no side effects.
Reading others on here there seems that there are versions of Ramipril, one hopefully will suit you.
As for the itching now I have always found lanocain helpful land that can be found in many preparations from a chemist, maybe ask the staff there ?
Take care

Hi, Is that like calomine lotion cause tried that and made no difference.
Hi Casablanka. Reading your post got me scratching. I've had an itchy back for years but not sure if it is the Ramipril (2.5 mg twice a day for 8 years). I use cheap and cheerful 'Childs Farm Moisturiser for Sensitive Skin', widely available and it helps but doesn't cure it.
