Hoping for some opinions here.

I was diagnosed with HF mid May this year.

I had BNP of nearly 7000 and an EF of under 25%.

Two months or so later my BNP had come down to 650 & my EF to 40-45%.

Im obviously on meds and have been taking it easy i.e not working but more resting.

Over the past few weeks Ive been working 2 to 3 days a week in my job which is reasonably physical.

I now seem to be getting tired earlier in the evening than before, ready for bed about 8.30 !.

Im not retaining water any longer so thats a good thing.

Am I pushing myself too soon ? Its really only about 23ish weeks since I was in hospital without even the strength to do the simplest of things, Im not getting out if breathe, just tiring quicker etc.

Opinons wanted please.

There is an oft quoted phrase on this forum, which I think is appropriate to your situation:

Listen to your body, and don’t try to push things too quickly, to do so might incur some form of relapse.

Only 23 weeks out of hospital for HF, and meds just getting sorted - some might say that is pushing things a bit, especially when the activity is so physical in nature. You’re ready for bed at 8pm because your body is physically drained. Remember your body is busy using energy to recover and rebuild itself - if you are making demands on that energy, then the recovery will not get all the energy it needs to heal the body.

I hope you find a working solution to your problem👍

Hiya, yes tiredness is a big issue with heart failure. My EF has improved dramatically with medication but I still get really tired very easily. I think the medication probably contributes to the tiredness for me. I’m 3 years in to my journey, and I have too pace myself.

Hello Glynnw … I started a similar thing in July. I find the tiredness really hard to live with. Seems you have to give in to it and sleep. I’ve found working everyday but reduced hours leaves me less tired than working a few full days. What’s BNP?

Best of luck

Chris
