Hi everyone I’d really appreciate any views or comments. I’ve been prescribed propanol for fast heart rate/palpitations. I’ve had a fast in my view and feeling heart rate 100-110 resting not constantly but intermittently for so many years. The BBS are helping to a degree. I’ve had a 24hr holter and awaiting results. My recent echo result read insignificant aortic sclerosis, and no other info, which I’m hopeful is a good sign? I’ve just received an appointment for a treadmill test, and been told I need to stop beta blockers 48 hours before the test, I understand the reason why but I’m concerned because I’ve been told not to stop the BBS suddenly due to potential side effects.
Ps the last treadmill test they tried 10 years ago they stopped before it started in case “something catastrophic” (their words) happened as they’d seen a wall abnormality. I went on to have an angiogram and was advised I had some atherosclerosis. That’s it no follow up.
I’d be very grateful for any views, suggestions etc, I will of course contact the cardio dept when I can get through. Thanks for reading
