Hi everyone, I’ve been told by my cardiologist nurse that I have swollen kidneys and liver , they have upped my beta blocker from 5mg to 7.5mg as well due to my heart rate being to fast , heart rate is normally now sitting around 70 where as after the ha it was 50 . He wants to increase the spironolacpone as well but since the kidneys and liver are swollen he can’t do that yet. I’ve also really hurt my back this week I take 8 tramadol/ 8 paracetamol for this every day anyway but on Sunday I think I also pulled a muscle there . Anyway the pain is all consuming right hand side lower back and now I’m worried I’ve ruptured my liver/ kidneys or something. Weird I know but it kinda take over your mind . Has anyone else has swollen liver n kidneys and what is the cure ? I already drink a lot of fluids non alcoholic. My diet is mainly fruits and one meal in the evening . Thanks for reading.

I am so sorry to hear of all this happening to you it sounds awful, I have chronic kidney disease they can't do much about it as my imnosuppresents are partly the cause, liver isn't great either, every time I get a twinge thats what I think about,I am off all diuretics now and I make sure I drink lots of water, could they arrange a scan of liver and kidneys just to check exactly what is happening and maybe an x-ray of your back would help them see what is going on, I hope you feel a bit better soon, take care char
Hi char , I know what’s wrong with my back , I have had four sections and on the third one they allowed a trainee to place the spinal tap in my back , sadly she removed some spinal fluid so basically my back is fuc&ed 😂 . It sometimes spasms and that’s fun 😂 I’m basically paryised when that happens. It’s the kidneys and liver thing. I did read it is a symptom of heart failure but I have no swelling in my ankles or anything. So goodness knows . I hope you are keeping well xx

Hi what an awful thing to happen especially as its long term, when I had heart failure I was never bothered with swollen ankles at all, I always jocked that if I did have they would look normal instead of like a chickens 🤣 at one point I was on ferusomide and spironolatone, they stopped the ferusomide as I didn't need both because they affect the kidneys, post transplant I took amlodipine it did make my feet and ankles swell so he took me off it,sleep still patchy I think it always will be now, waking up at three and not getting back to sleep for hours how I hate it char
That sounds horrible, I sleep ok , go to bed at 7 pm every night clay and read for hours . I take antihistamines at night so maybe try that ? It doesn’t help you fall asleep persay it won’t knock you out but when you do fall asleep they help you sleep throughout the night . Give it a try .

I always read in bed as well although maybe psychological thrillers aren't the best for a good night's sleep! I will try antihistamines thanks char
