Angina symptoms

Hi everyone. I was diagnosed with angina in march. 50/75% narrowing of the lad but just on meds. My worry is twinges in chest arms and shoulder blades even when sat doing nothing. Everything I have read or been told says that angina occurs when exerting yourself and the heart is working harder. I really don't like calling doc if I don't need to so can anyone on here tell me if that's OK and do they get the same. Thankyou in anticipation guyd

Hello :-)

What you have been told could be right however when it comes to your heart I don't think we should take any chances

I hate calling the Doctor but I think this is my health here so call I must if I have any concerns

I would call them and talk it through with them and see what they say :-)

Let us know how you get on :-) x

Hi worker38. As I understand it there are 2 primary types of angina. "Stable" which occurs on exertion and " unstable " which occurs at rest. if you are experiencing symptoms at rest they may (or may not) be heart related and you should seek advice from your GP as soon as possible. You are not being a nuisance if you are looking after your own health. If pain becomes very severe 111 or 999 are further options. take care x

Hello There-thats me. Unstable angina happens at rest-it can even wake me up at night and often occurs in the early hours. My angina is never brought on by exertion but by stress. It returned 2 years after CABG x2. I am on meds and use my GTN spray as and when I feel the discomfort which is in my back, down my arm, and/or my jaw. The spray sorts it out. See your GP and good luck.

Thankyou for that. I think I was already thinking it had progressed from stable to unstable. Think I had best speak to gp though I dread having to do that. I am waiting on the result of 48hr ecg thingy so I will mention this when I call for results of ecg. Thank you
