Angiogram tomorrow

I'm booked in for an Angiogram tomorrow morning but am just getting over a cold which has left me with a dry cough. I'm worried if I cough during the procedure it will not be pleasant. Anyone else had a similar experience??

Hi,

I had a persistent cough that I was worried about before my angiogram. I found some cough medicine that had helped me to sleep without waking up coughing and some cough sweets that helped.

I made sure I told everyone that I was worried about my cough and they propped my head up as much as they could. I also had a good swig of the cough medicine just as they were taking me down. Thankfully I didn’t cough during the procedure.

Thanks mattychd I have been taking cough medicine and soothers for over a week now but still have a very tickly cough. Thankfully my sore throat has eased. I will take some in with me tomorrow and hopefully will have the same response as you.I appreciate your reply and wish you well.

Just tell them you have a cough or could you even phone them today and mention it so they know ?

I hope everything goes OK had an angiogram 2017 and worried about coughing. I think you end up so intent trying to understand what was going on I forgot about it 😀 hope it works for you. Take cough meds with you. Good luck.

If there is a problem with your cough, it would be better to tell them today rather than leave it until you get there.I hope all goes well.

Thank you. I have just phoned the heart centre and he was absolutely fine about me going in with a cough. Says they will try propping me up a bit if its bad and to take some medicine in with me.....just posting incase anyone else is having the same worries...oh and obviously he asked if I have had a Covid test, with a negative result 😀
