Yes you can lift weights. As with aerobic exercises you shouldn't exceed the maximum heart rate that will have been computed for you if you attended a cardio-rehab course, but apart from that you're good to go!

Everything should be possible in moderation, however you might need to knock off a few kgs on the bars.

I visit the gym twice a week to do some cardiovascular exercise to warm up followed by weights to maintain strength, working on most muscle groups. I keep to weights which I can manage 10-20 repetitions with and do a couple of sets on each. Following my incident I built up strength and increased weights gradually over 12 months to reach a maximum which I don't try to exceed. So far so good 8 years on and the routine which I started in a cardiac rehab group appears to be working avoiding any angina. Hope this helps but suggest you discuss with your GP if you experience angina pains whilst exercising.
