Hi Jv85. I had my mitral valve repaired four months ago after a couple of years of having sever regurgitation. I was understandably petrified before my operation - I live in Laos so travelled to Thailand with my partner for the surgery. My mum's advice to me was to try not to think and worry too much about the surgery itself but to focus on the getting better part. Remember these doctors do these kinds of operations daily so you're be in very good, experienced hands. Trust me you'll feel so much better after the operation - all that worry about surgery will disappear and the nurses will have you up and moving around the room in no time
