I’m asking on behalf of my husband. He has coronary artery spasms but last week, he had different chest pain that was not eased by gtn spray. Called ambulance and admitted. Diagnosed with atrial fibrillation. Episode of AF last nearly 4 hours. He has felt absolutely washed out since. Slowly improving. He is to have a 7 day trace when I do becomes available.
What has anyone else experienced? Thank you

We were on the point of trying to find a private cardiologist to get help with the vasospastic angina (thank you!) but then the pandemic hit. So, now he has had this AF episode, we will keep pushing for answers. Thank you for your help
I have had AF for a number of years and it is all about the right medication mix. It took my cardiologist about 6 months to get the right regime for me. Prior to this I was in A&E so much that Ambulance and staff new me by my first name without asking.
I have had 2 episode's in the last 8 months and neither required hospital. I get minor ones but they are more like mild indigestion.
I had my first HA over 18 years ago. 6 so far. So not all is lost. Just keep at it until you find the right mix.
AF is extremely debilitating. I used to get 10 hour episodes regularly before my ablation and even 24 hour episodes on a couple of occasions. Afterwards I would feel washed out and fatigued for days. Slowly you start to regain energy, until the next one. It’s important to keep hydrated at all times, and take short walks, gradually building up. But if your husband has other heart issues he should take medical advice on exercise. Sleep is also very very important with AF, as episodes can be triggered by lack of sleep.
Thank you! AF is new to us as last week was the first episode we’ve been aware of. He was told he was very close to having a stroke and is now on Apixaban to thin the blood. It is another learning curve for us! But your advice on sleep is good, thanks
My AF epsidose last 3 days usually and I find it difficult to walk etc, just utterly washed out.The episode are months apart usually but I have just had the Norovirus and the vomitting triggered the AF. Thats a first.
