I had my bypass and have made excellent progress up to a while ago. Now I am finding my walking getting slower and I have less energy. No angina, no swollen ankles. I know my aorta valve is leaking and in theatre just before my op they did a n internal echo to check my valve as I was told they may well replace it at the same time. However, they did not as I presume it was not needed. I also have an aorta root aneurism that was 3mm under criteria for being replaced at the same time too. But the fact I get out of breath more easily, is a slight worry. At what stage should I do something? I would like to put that off as long as possible as I am not sure how much more my wife can take after the worry of last year. I am 74 and was working 6+ hrs a day, but now less than half of that. Otherwise I feel great. I had no heart attack so my heart is in good shape they said. I have been discharged so no cardiac follow up.

I also had bypass surgery 11 months ago and after 10 months of feeling 100% better am now noticing extreme breathlessness when walking. Spoke to the doctor who referred me to cardiology again and now have a telephone appointment with the department on 2nd September.
I would speak to your doctor- better safe than sorry
