Not going as planed

Hi everyone just a quick update. I had my chest X-ray and ECG done yesterday. They then told me that my heart cath more than likely won’t be going ahead today. To say I was annoyed would be an understatement. Got the team coming round sometime today to chat to me. I need to come back to have my liver looked at so they said they will do cath then. Let’s see what today brings

Can't imagine how you feel, I thought that they were doing all the tests needed this week. Is the cath not going ahead because of nhs administrative issues/capacity or because the ecg/xray showed they couldn't do it now? Grrrr!

I'd be annoyed as well, you went in expecting they had all their ducks in a neat straight row to get testing and interviews done and hearing there will be a delay must have been gut-wrenching.

Still, so far it's 'only' a wee blip, hopefully they'll have a good explanation for the delay when they come around sometime today.

I would not stress about it. The cath lab may be dealing with an emergency as stents can sometimes be time critical after a heat attack. My preliminary blood tests showed a slightly lowered eGfr so I had a kidney ultrasound arranged for the next day. I am sure they will update you today.

Emergencies can caused delays in plans so don't be too upset.

Although not as serious as your condition, my husband had 5 cancellations leading up to his quad bypass (one of those operation cancellations was in the operating room!!). Wheeled back out and I collected him and took him home!!

Keep us posted Tori. I'm sure something positive will come out of today.
