I've had AF for a year and had a cardioversion last Tuesday I'm still very breathless. Is this normal. I have heart failure and had an aortic valve replaced 1 year ago.

I had my cardioversion to stop an atrial flutter a bit over a year ago. The symptoms of the atrial flutter (poor exercise tolerance, I.e. breathlessness and fluid retention) took a few weeks to disappear. I had a follow up consultation after 4 weeks, by which time I was much improved. The consultant mentioned that it could take up to 8 weeks to be ‘back to normal’.

Hi Suggest you talk to your doctor and or hospital. I've had CA and Afib last year with Cardioversion in August, I wasn't breathless before or after, my only problem was the sore patches front and back - good luck but do talk so someone
