1st cardiac appointment

Hi guys , I have my 1st appointment come through today to speak to the cardiologist next Friday (face to face) could you please advise and give me some pointers on what to ask in the consultation as I want to make the most of the appointment and ask the most important questions that I can . Thank you

It depends what’s on your mind!I usually start with something like

What do you think is wrong with my heart?

What do you think will help?

Yes agreed I wouldn't mind knowing what's wrong with it and in all honesty I wouldn't of thought to ask that . Thank you for your response 😃

Cardiologist usually do all the talking first and then asked if you have any questions. Write down all you want to know. When ever you think of something write it down as when we go to appointment as we forget. I find it helps me with all appointments. Take care x x

I took my trusty Filofax (yes, I still use one) and made notes of all that I was told. I found that writing it down highlighted what I had and had not understood from what the NP told me, which in itslef created questions to ask. My first appointment was about an hour long, and I came away with some BHF publications to read. My wife found it all extremely useful - to this day I still don't fully understand how the heart works and the blood flows through it - but I can tell you what main roads to take to get to most places in England, each to our own 😆

I'm on the A5, i like the portability, but my wife uses an A4 - good to think we're not alone)
