Wow, I think you've asked a question that is impossible to answer. There are so many variables that would affect the outcome - state of health, fitness, diet, lifestyle, stress,.... to name just a few.

What I would say is that when I had by bypass surgery, my surgeon said he would bypass the stents that had been inserted at the time of my HA. His opinion was that stents have a life expectancy of 10 years before intervention would possibly be required. Bypass surgery would give me at least 25 years, so I therefore elected to go for surgery. I know people who had bypass surgery 40 years ago and are still fit and well.

40 years ago would be amazing.I’m 34 years old, last year I made an TC of my chest over suspect of covid, and then it showed that I have mild burden of plaque, with calcium score 24 in my CDA.

For a while it turns out to be 2 plagues and others 3 artery there are no calcium.( I don’t know if it’s not showed in others as it’s recent) But it is extremely precocious.

I’ve never smoked and hardly drink alcohol

And my gradfathers are 82/99 years old, grandmother 82, there is NO cardiac history running in family.

I’m active and I’ve working out since I was 17, never used anabols, apart from thermogenic lipo 6 black. I’m sure it was the cause of this problem.

I've always been very much against putting anything into my body which may affect me in a negative way and that extends to non-prescribed medications and even certain types of food and drink. I avoid things like cold remedies and try to not to get ill by taking regular exercise. No gym for me - the environment does my head in. I only do some work with weights at home and complement this with hill walking which is what I love to do.

Being fit does not guarantee that we will not have problems with heart related issues. It does however affect the way that we recover from any issues. For me, I was back on the hills three months after my heart attack and the same after bypass surgery. Keeping positive is also key to a good recovery.

As for family history, well I didn't have the benefit of knowing how long my father and his father would have lived. War and a road accident prevented that, but my mother lived to 92 and several other direct ancestors lived well into their late 80s. I'm aiming for that!

I had one stent fitted last year. The cardiologist said all my other arteries were like tree trunks! They were unable to tell me what caused my artery to become blocked, but I have my own suspicions.

Arteries don't block up for no reason. It is not inevitable. There is an underlying cause and it is almost always related to some sort of chronic inflammation.

If you can get chronic inflammation under control with dietary and lifestyle changes then there's no reason to expect you'll ever need stenting again. However this can be easier said than done and requires commitment. It is also my personal opinion that the advice the NHS gives you to achieve this is wrong and may actually exacerbate the problem.

I hope this helps.
