Who wants to extend past three years - you or your doctor? Either way you need to ask your doctor?

One important thing to remember is that the recommended lifestyle changes are designed to slow or even halt the progression of atherosclerosis. Medication alone is not enough!

Thank you for answering, I know when Ticagrelor is stopped this coming August after altogether 4 years I am going to feel very unsafe and your quite right lifestyle changes are very important and that’s the problem, I have diabetes and forever checking what I eat to keep blood sugar low which were low carb meals but higher dairy products which seemed to work but when I had the heart attack in August 2017 and 1 stent fitted cardiac rehab said to eat a matchbox size piece of cheese and little dairy produce which makes controlling the diabetes a nightmare, I now have difficulty in knowing what to eat. Just to make the whole thing worse I have Rheumatoid Arthritis which limits the amount of physical exercise I can do that cardiac rehab recommends after heart attacks so Ticagrelor after all the above makes me feel something is helping me prevent another heart attack and I’m not sure Aspirin on it’s own would be enough.
