I have recently noticed on my fitbit during the night my heart rate spikes for about half an hour. I have seen this on about 6 occasions since January it goes up to about 120 bpm for a short while then back to normal. I have an appointment booked to discuss but interested to hear what your personal experiences are. I have Bicuspid Aortic Stenosis diagnosed 2 years ago and have echo checkups each year, next one due in June

Hi I have same. I was rushed into hospital after suffering with a pain in the chest nearly 6yrs ago. I was in hospital for 48hrs. had ECG, heart scan etc. and was told it was paraxymol afb. sent home on Statins which I could not tolerate in any form, other meds which made me worse. Only saw cardio consultant after 6mths and nothing since. I do my BP for my 6mth check ups at GP surgery it does show a couple of irregular heart beats but they do not seem to worried. I am on Apixaban that is all and keep OK I am an 82yr female
Thank you I have no pain or anything even the bicuspid valve I am asymptomatic. Its just so random anyway will see when I have a chat with the Doc. Keep well x
Diagnosed with paroxysmal AFib 9 years ago aged 65. Was stressful time looking after increasingly frail MiL. Came totally out of the blue, one minute ok next heart rate all over the place, dizzy and nearly passed out. Paramedics did ECG and BP 210/160 before going to A&E. Put on Warfarin, Ramipril and Bisoprolol. Had couple of episodes that required A&E visits over the years and had to be hospitalised for a couple of days when Omeprazole? affected Pottassium levels causing episode. Never had any pain with it though. Med levels have been tweaked over the years and compared with others on the site are pretty high but they seem to be keeping things under control.
Thank you I am 66 and never had any illness or conditions until they randomly picked up a slight heart murmur 2 years ago had an echo and found I had been born with a bicuspid valve. This was a complete shock. Its been moderate and have yearly echos one is due in June. So when this happened it’s worrying me. I never even noticed them I was asleep, just seen on the fitbit. Keep well x
Yes I’ve got paroxysmal AF. Don’t jump to conclusions though before you’ve seen the doctor and had a 24 hour or seven day holter monitor, as your fast HR could be due to something else entirely. My AF episodes are not just fast they are very irregular and last up to 30 hours. I’m having a ablation procedure next month. Good luck with your diagnosis.
Thank you gosh 30 hours. When I checked they were no more than 1/2 hour to 45 mins. There is always a constant worry in the background since my diagnosis which so far hasn’t changed.
