My sister was 47 years old and died three weeks ago from a massive heart attack, through us all through a loop as we never expected her to pass from that.she had asthma not a heart condition.i have had angina for quiet some time now and I have been taking bisopropol for many a year now.i still get the pinching feeling in my chest and side of kneck but dr says it's stress. Im terrified of dying the same way as my sister.can someone please tell me does this medication prevent me from ever having a heart attack or stroke? What exactly will this med do for me?

I think you ask a question that no one is qualified to answer and has the potential to make you feel far worse than you do at this moment by giving you inaccurate information. Surely your Dr knows you and your condition better than anyone else. Why not ask the Dr the same question? If you feel unhappy with your Dr's answer, then change, the process is quick and painless and free

Hello Debrahann123

Welcome to the forum, I was so sorry to read your post and send you my condolences.

You are asking a question that I don’t think anyone can give you a definite answer to, on the forum we all live with heart issues of one sort or another, we all take medication to help manage these issues, but with no guarantees. All we can do is try to look after our hearts, watch our diet take exercise and our tablets.

To lose your sister at such a young age and without her having any symptoms, is something that will have rocked your world, and maybe a talk with your GP could really help, or if you have a cardiologist maybe he/she could give you some advice.

You are now part of the Hearties family and we are here to help where we can. Keep posting and someone will always be here to listen or to give you a shoulder to lean on. It’s a really difficult time for you and your family, take it day by day.

Best wishes Pauline
