I started on atorvastatin two weeks ago and have been having vivid dreams ( which is ok) but waking every one to two hours ( which is not!). Will I adapt over time? Thanks

Hi. I started same tablet two weeks ago too. I've slept really well except for one night where my partner thought I was possessed 😐. Making whimpering noises and shouted out in my sleep. You could try listening to some sleep music/noises from YouTube, helps relax and let's you drop off. Tbh I've never slept better. Good luck 👍

Thanks Cinders! I have had sleep problems before this since came off hrt 18 months ago. But this is disturbing . I have no trouble getting to sleep. I often listen to relaxing podcast. Plus usually take magnesium. It’s the frequent waking and dream after dream I get back to sleep usually after half an hour although if dream really upsetting I don’t. I wonder if there is a statin that doesn’t cause this?

No Prob! I listen to hypnosis..never got to the end as always asleep by then but the dreams are vivid. As I say the other night I had a particular scary and frightening one. I've always talked in my sleep but my bf said I was shouting in a raspy evil voice lol

Oh wow! I live alone so even yelling in my sleep wouldn’t matter😂I’ve emailed dr and asked if I should change to rosuvastatin but it’s a shame because am OK other than the sleep. I wouldn’t mind if I were having nice dreams instead of chasing dreams and about work which I stopped 18 months ago- still it’s a relief to wake up! Take care and thank you

I changed taking my atorvastatin to the morning and it seemed to help.
