Hi thereI had toe check after getting endocarditis to check how badly affected my mitral valve had been. It wasnt too bad. I was sedated and the test only took about 20 mins. Then I had to go back to recovery for an hour or so. Got hot drink and sandwich then onto ward. No after effects or discomfort as I can remember. Nearest thing is an endoscopy if you have ever had one but less discomfort.Hope you get sorted as well as I did.

I had toe 7 years ago before ablation procedure. Was done by student under supervision of a cardiologist and it was BAD. It was painful, they tried 3 or 4 times to get me to swallow it. I felt like a piece of fish on the end of a hook and line. I could not swallow anything solid for 6 weeks afterwards and I had dreadful and very painful oesophagus spasms regularly for a long time afterwards.

Hope you get an experienced operator to do the task. Good wishes.
