Measuring heart rate

Hello, does anyone here use anything like an IWatch to monitor heart rate for example? I have an arrhythmia problem and thought it would be good just for me to monitor it especially when I’m having a bad episode

I use the Apple Watch 6 for monitoring, you can do a ECG, check blood oxygen levels and it does heart rate as standard including alerting you if heart rate goes above or below set limits. (You can set the limit theesholds)

Me too, Apple Watch was (a couple of years ago) the only one that my re-hab team would let you use in place of there HR chest straps, as they had tested as being accurate enough.

I'm sure others are now as accurate but not sure which.

As above,

Had the the Apple 6 and watch since my HA.. I don’t find it great for blood oxygen because if it was right I would of died about 5 times.

ECG was taken seriously by cardiologist when I had eptopic beats so it must be quite good, heart rate is just as accurate as the Garmin watch I had before.

Good as a guide, always a danger you can become obsessed with checking vitals though.. like all things.... good in moderation.

Morning. I had a heart attack just before Xmas. Wanted to keep track of my BPM and bought the Apple Watch series 6. It’s been great plus does loads of other good things. Of course you need an iphone to go with it.I was actually in hospital yesterday for another procedure on my heart. I was wired up to the hospital monitor for my heart which gave a perfect opportunity to test the accuracy of the Apple Watch. It was spot on.

Would highly recommend 🙂

Hi, I have had a variety to measure HR after a HA in May2019 so I can watch accurate as possible my HR when running, it depends if you want a nice looking watch or as your main watch or just a band to to add to your normal daily watch. I use a Garmin Forerunner 245, but that was because on review it had one of the most accurate HR monitors, I am told the apple are good but more expensive, also the Samsung active 2 is a good watch nice looking and not overly expensive good HR monitor, not teh best but good and will have ECG coming the month we are told.

Hi Alex, I’ve been using a Polar m430 with a Polar chest strap (H10). I’ve been using it for around 2 months now.I’m happy with it. I asked my cardio team what my max heart rate was ( 125 bpm for me) so that’s set in the watch so I know where I’m at with my heart rate. There is a few free polar apps that I have on my phone which measure all sorts like gps route ive walked, steps etc.

There are quite a few other good watches out there, I guess It comes down to budget and personal taste.

I do feel it gives me a bit of support knowing what’s going on!!!

Good luck.
