72hr Monitor

I’ve been given a date for a monitor at the end of the month.

I’m curious how true to life do they want to have it used? For its time I’m on annual, just wondering if i should swap shifts and go to work with it... bearing in mind I work in the emergency services so it’ll give a truer reading. If I wear it on annual leave i might go for a walk and be sat down the rest of the time.

I would say you want it to pick up any problems so if u have issues while working that’s when u want to wear it. If it’s more issues at rest then off work will be better. I had a 24hr one and didn’t go on my usual walks as felt off and now wished I had.

When I had a 48 hour monitor (twice within a year) the second wearing of it I was told to go all out and do everything that caused the problem - cycling, walking, gardening etc. It worked as the problem was clearly picked up, but this was in 2018, and subsequently I had a pacemaker fitted! Good luck.
