I was born with extra ‘wiring’ in my heart that causes the upper chambers only to beat at over 250 /minute. Diagnosed some years ago, usually the Valsalva Manoeuvre stops it but if, after 20 mins, I can’t control it, I have to attend a&e for intravenous drug intervention.

Just realised it’s avnrt (atrioventricular) not svt

It's the AV NODE RE-ENTRY TACHYCARDIA. Very common SVT. Typically the ventricles beat at about 140 bpm while the Atrials flutter.

I also have this and over the years it escalated to at least once a week.

Sometimes it would last a few minutes and sometimes I would have to have it chemically cardioverted.

Since I was put on 100mg x 2 Flecainide it has never returned except for the ectopics and some short palps.

You are most welcome, i would wait a while and see how the side effects start to appear in the media. I know most are feeling like they have been hit by a bus the ones i know who have had it and quite frankly I really don't need that at the moment and I don't think you do either by the sound of it. Your GP needs to know everything before he can suggest it or else he is putting you at a higher risk.My advice stay safe, watch and wait and stay as well as you can.🤗x
