Does Amoxicillin affect your defibrillator ❤️

Did the person who perscribed the Amoxicillin know you have a defibrillator? If not ring them in the morning.

There is an extremely rare side effect of penicillin where it may cause fibrillation which I imagine may affect a pacemaker/ICD's behaviour.

A year ago amoxicillin was one of the reasons my icd went off 61 times, then again a couple of months ago my alarm went off

Looking back you did not mention it at the time. If this is is a genuine issue with one of the most commonly perscribed antibiotics the BHF need to highlight this. Personally I would think drugs like antihistamines more worrying as they can cause arrhythmias!
