Multifocal PVCs

Hi,

I'm new here and just wondered if anyone has the same or similar to me? Just need a bit of support really, and to know I'm not alone with this.

I have multifocal PVCs and nocturnal Wenkebach (heart block), which was diagnosed a year ago (although I've had symptoms for 2 years). I was started on beta blockers, but it made my pulse rate under 50bpm and my BP dropped too low, so I stopped taking them. I'm 47 years old and otherwise fairly healthy.

The cardiologist wasn't concerned about my PVCs (at 2%) and said as long as they don't go above 5% he wasn't worried. I felt a bit fobbed off really, as they really make me feel dizzy when I get lots of them together. I was supposed to be going for a stress ECG, which cancelled due to Covid. I don't drink alcohol, take exccessive caffeine or any illegal drugs, so the cardiologist doesn't know what's causing it.

Lately I've been getting episodes of low level tachycardia (90bpm when resting, when it's usually about 60bpm) and feeling rather faint and shaky. I'll be contacting my GP about this, but don't hold out much hope, as they always try to fob me off saying I'm imagining it (my 24 hour ECGs would say otherwise).

Just wondered if anyone else has similar experience?

Helen

Good evening Helenloulou, The only advice I can give is to make a detailed list of times and effects your episodes have on you and be persistent with your GP about your questions, hope you have some success and a happy Christmas.

I agree and would ask for a holter for more than 24 hours. I’ve worn one for 3 days,7 and even a month until they finally caught the episodes. I suffer from pvc, pac, Atrial couplets, svt and Pat they scare. Sh* out of me. And drs tell me just to relax. But want to start me on propanolol 10mg to see if it helps. I’ve had 2 eps study’s w no ablation. They seem to come in clusters I feel your pain. It’s not easy to deal w and they are scary. If you feel then they say to sip cold water, splash your face w cold water , cough or bear down. Best of luck
