Hello... I take Clopidogrel and 75mg Aspirin. My understanding is that it is important to take a stomach protector as well. Interestingly I was changed from Omeprazole to Lansoprazole when Clopidogrel was added to my cardio allsorts. What dose are you on?

I saw your earlier post about reducing Prasugrel from 10mg to 5mg when you dropped below 60kg. This is quite correct and standard pra tice. I am actually nearly 50% heavier at 85kg having gained around 1kg per week over the last few months following my severe infection and amputation. As one nurse did to another. "Michael is not overweight he's overtall!"

Hello Michael thankyou for prompt reply. Not sure if i have replied twice but here goes in case it didn't send! I had heart attack in July and 4 stents .was given prasugrel 10mgs amongst other things, Due to very bad bruising and wgt of 59kgs my GP reduced it to 5mg.cardiologist wrote to GP saying 5mg dose has not been validated and to switch me to ticagrelor 90mgs twice a day or clopidogrol 75mg once a day. I had a TIA 10 years ago and read in information sheet prasugrel shouldn't be used if patient has had this. Between the lot of them they have started up my anxiety again just when i thought i was turning a corner. i suppose i shall have to take the clopidogrol which I'm guessing comes with bruising or the 10 mg of prasugrel. I don't fancy the ticagrelor, am just so fed up with all the conflicting information from the Drs.

Thankyou.

I also had my omeprazole changed to Lansoprazole when I got given Clopidogrel, also 75 mg Aspirin. I went to A&E as I had a minor Stroke. When I asked why they changed it, I was told some ingredient in the Tablet did not go well with the omeprazole. Also taking the Aspirin but only for 21 days and the I stop (???)

Yes I take both for 8 years now. No problems that I know of.

Hi cakesandbakes,

I was put on Prasugrel after my HA which was caused by a clot and resolved with a couple of stents. 11 months later I had a triple bypass and the Prasugrel was changed to Clopidogrel. Neither medication caused me any issues and I was taking 75mg of Aspirin plus Losartan throughout. As instructed, I stopped taking Clopidogrel a year after my op. I'm not sure why the medication was changed, but I got the feeling that it was purely down to the preferences of those dealing with my situation at the time. Others may be able to comment on this.

After my HA I was put on tiicagrelor and aspirin together , supposedly for a year. I couldn't breathe with the ticagrelor so it was swapped to clopidogrel but hat caused really bad stomach problems so it was stopped after 6 months and I was left on just aspirin
