Hi

PIP is not claimed on your illness but how it effects you and what support you need

You have nothing to lose submitting in a claim.

Buy I would get someone to help you complete form .

I would echo what Rose54 says. In recent years I have been surprised how many people think a condition like Type II diabetes or a diagnosis of heart failure give automatic entitlement to PIP.

I agree with the other comments from Rose and Michael.

You are awarded a PIP after an assessment of how your day to day to life is limited by your health condition.

I have been awarded a PIP it was not straight forward to fill in the 40 page application form.

The usual length of an award is between 2 and 4 years.

I would advise you to get help from the Citizens Advice Bureau.

Hi it is definitely worth applying for I received it for heart failure, but the form is a nightmare, my local council have a free advice centre in the town hall they were really good at helping me fill it out, I would never have have managed it myself, I also got a home assessment, pre covid, as our fellow hearties said the citizen advice bureau are excellent as well, good luck char

You don't get PIP because of an illness but on how it affects and restricts what you can do. Have a look at eh website "Benefits and Work". Claiming is very difficult; most get turned down and have to appeal. You have to give 100% details of your very worst day and then more.

I agree with the other 3. I have been awarded PIP because of how my condition affects me. I have Brs and also suffer from severe anxiety and depression. Speak to CAB and ask for support to fill the forms right and answer all the questions honestly and the rest is up to them.
