Hi there

Does anyone get tachycardia (up to 160 bpm) that is bowel related (ie just before, during or after bowel movement)?

Tamuiel Hi

Sorry you're having a bad time, health anxiety is just awful. Yes I know it's supposed to go up but probably not to 165 bpm

True, 160 is high. Mine will sometimes do 130ish after I eat and smoke my cigarette. I normally smoke 3-4 a day but no more. I quit yesterday, have a little congestion and cough so that helped push me to quit. God bless

Hi Sassical,

Do you feel shaky, hot or cold sweat, clammy, sick, faint, palpitations....?

We've spoken before and I still get the same. Before all my anxiety started 5 years ago, I would be like anyone else, feel the need to go, go and feel better afterwards as you've emptied your tummy.

This that I feel now I still just put down to my anxiety. Easy to say I know, but as I sit here typing to you now I have Jyst taken an anti nausea pill as my tummy is starting to feel movement and I am beginning to panic about the feelings.

I don't know the answer, bIm hoping as time goes on it will fade.

At the same time I suffer badly with aching muscles in my neck, shoulders, back even down my arms, I am so tense, I don't suppose this is helping my body. Also I clench my jaw most of the time, and if you research that it says it can cause gastric problems.

Please pm me if you want to chat more, I know it's horrible and frightening. xx

I have the same and have every one of my medications change incase that is the cause. In my case I have diarrhoea at least six times a day, preceded by palpitations.. sometimes it happens through the night.

I’ve read up on the vagus nerve as I think there may be a coronary/digestive link there

Hi P0rtnahapp1e

How awful for you, I'm sorry. I thought of medication but due to cardiac issues and anxiety my doctor does not want me coming off my meds. Have you watched Dr Sanjay Gupta's videos on Youtube about gastro cardiac symptoms?

I don't get tachycardia but I reckon there's a definite link between bowels and heart. It doesn't happen all the time but my heart can go a bit arrythmic. I'm interested in the vagus nerve idea.

Yes, straining is a vagal manoeuvre. Check Dr Sanjay Gupta's Youtube videos re vagal stuff
