Post Bypass Opp Headaches

Hi everyone,

I had a double bypass 10 days ago, Wednesday 16th Sept 2020. My recovery is excellent, I'm very pleased.

But despite all the painkillers that stop all the other pains I still have a headache?

Has anyone else come across this?

Hi I had a transplant, it was 9 weeks ago and the one pain I still have is a near constant headache, which is so annoying, the hospital said it could be a side effect of meds, I have so many it would be hard to figure out which one! The other thing they said was it could be the painkillers, which sounds a bit bizarre, I take mostly just paracetamol but I still have tramadol in case I need it, it doesn't touch the headache but I wonder if it could be the cause, I also have to watch I drink enough water as dehydration can cause it as well, char

Thank you. The one thing I've thought about is when you use the gtn spray, you get a headache from the rush of oxygen to your brain. Well now that the op is done, the brain is flooded in oxygen 😂

Great to hear your recovery is excellent Woodsie, I’m exactly a month ahead of you had same on August 24th. Re your headache are you taking statins? Headache be a side effect. Stay well mate and stay safe.

Gosh, that was a while ago. No more headaches as I don't use the spray any more 👏👏👏
