It seems like anything between 50- 100 is OK, but if it is making you anxious talk to the doc. I bought an Apple Watch that measures Heart rate all the time and I’ve taken it off because I was spending far too much time looking at! Hope all goes well for you.

I agree with the previous poster. Where I am in rehab (post amputation) my BP/HR/O2 is measured a number of times a day. My HR varies from the mid-fifties to low sixties. At your age it would drop to mid-forties. See your GP if concerned but try to stop worrying as honestly it achieves nothing...

I think make haste slowly might be the case. Have you watched 'touching the void', should keep you amused for an hour or two.

Currently reading "You Will Never Walk" by Andy Grant. He was a Royal Marine seriously injured by an IED who subsequently took the decision to have his leg amputated as it would never be right. Currently he is in 32 week basic training in Devon. I think I could have done it with the odd hypo! 🤣🤣🤣 In fact I was interested in the police but they had a no-diabetics policy in the day. ☹️

Hi Michael

How are you getting on I hope you’ve healed up now.

You cannot be in bed to long you’ve got to much mischief to cause, bet the staff love you 🤭🤭

Hello again Chase, so glad to see you've joined the anxiety and depression group and posted there too. I hope the members there can give you even more support than the hundreds of replies you've had from this forums under your three different names. Usually you are anxious about your closed pda and going to the emergency room - has someone helped you to move on from that? Did your primary care giver organise some cbt for you as suggested? Your last two posts have indicated you have an even greater awareness of why you are so anxious - you may not feel like it but there is progress. Have you tried the five minute daily walk yet? That would really help you to get out of the house. I often think of you and hope you feel things are improving. Small steps.....

Hi LonerIP

My heart rate goes as low as about 42 but I’m on beta blockers, before then it was around 60.

Agreed that seeing your Gp may help reassure you.

Let us know how you get on, always someone here to talk to if you’re still worried.

Good to hear from calliope that you’ve joined a depression and anxiety support group, Chase. Try not to just switch your anxiety about your PDA to other things, though. That’s not going to help anything in the long term. You’ve been repeatedly told that your heart is fine, and a resting rate above 50 is classed as normal.

Not what you're looking for?
