First of all, quite a few forum users contributed to this month's Heart Haiku zine on the topic of cardiac devices and that has just become available to download (for free) via my project blog. As usual, an absolutely brilliant response with so much openness, creativity, humour and honesty in the creative contributions. Thank you to everyone who wrote something for it!
You can download the zine here -heartytalescouk.wordpress.c...
I'm not sure what the theme of September's zine will be, but I'm having a brief poll over on Twitter ( twitter.com/hearty_tales/st... ) if you have any preferences or suggestions. Suggestions at any time for future zine themes will always be gratefully received, in fact!
And finally, I have a presentation available to watch for the next week or two, all about the fictional cardiac devices of the children's steampunk novel Cogheart, and how they relate to lived experience of real-life cardiac devices, including contributions from some familiar forum faces. It's a 15-minute presentation, totally free for you to watch at whatever time suits you over the next couple of weeks. You'll be sent a link to a playlist of all the presentations (all on the theme of Public Health/Private Illness and the humanities) if you register here - phpiglasgow.wixsite.com/web...
I hope nobody minds me promoting these things here, but I did promise many of you when I started this project that I would keep you informed of anything you could be involved in. And I would love as many as possible of you to be involved! Your opinions and experiences really matter to me, so thanks for taking an interest in the project
P.S. Free pattern for the cardiac cyborg bracelet pictured in the photo has also just been made available on my blog - same link as the zine above - for any crafty types among you.
