Had a stent fitted two weeks ago and the last three nights have had chest pain and had to use the spray. Just a little surprised I get pain whilst resting. Has anyone else had the same .

Yep. Speak to your doctor or consultant as the chances are you may need some further help. But don't worry, I'm up to 5 stents and I know someone who's on 17!

They know what they're doing and you're in safe hands.

I had burning chest pain when walking any distance and various aches in my elbows, upper arms jaw during first month after my stents. I did use my NTG spray and sometimes it helped other times not. I reported this to the cardiac nurse and had a couple of medication changes, a repeat treadmill stress and 24 hour BP monitor both of which were negative. It is important that you report any problems so the cause can be investigated.

I saw a GI specialist privately and it was decided stomach irritation from the aspirin and Ticagrelor may be contributing and an acid blocker was added to my meds. I am 10 months post stents and the pains gradually decreased. I still have the odd day with weird fleeting aches but always feel better after a walk. It is not uncommon for stents to take time to settle but any continuing chest pain should be followed up.

Sounds as if your meds need adjusting. Talk to your GP or even better your cardiologist.

Thanks both of you. Will try and speak to someone tomorrow. Finding it difficult to get much help because of covid. Would be nice to talk to someone face to face
