Am I with a bovine aorta valve any more at risk of contracting Covid-19 than 1. those who have a mechanical valve? and 2. those who have never had open-heart surgery?

More at risk?
Not sure why you would think you are at more risk of catching this virus than anyone else. This virus is not selective. Follow all the NHS advice and if in any doubt self isolate that is the safest option for everyone
I have the same as you, don’t think I am at any more risk as my heart as been mended, I am over 70 so I am in the vulnerable group because of that not my heart. If you’re invited for a flu jag every year that puts you also in the vulnerable group, not the shielded group.
Keep washing your hands and stay 2 meters apart when out doors.
Stay safe best wishes Pauline
Hi Squash-player. The risk of catching Covid19 is the same for anyone, it's what happens if we do catch it that's the problem. While a fit and healthy person may get over it with no harm done, us hearties may not be able to shrug it off so easily.
I don't believe there is likely to be any difference between a tissue and a mechanical valve, but the fact that you've had open heart surgery may put you in a higher risk category than someone who hasn't.
