I am 49 yr old female with LBBB. It seems it began in 2007 but other than being told I have it and it being confirmed on numerous ECG I have had no treatment. I have several bouts of palpitations a day, sometimes only lasting a few seconds and other times they come on and stay for several minutes. The nausea is great but hey ho. The last few days (well about two weeks, if I’m honest) I get woken up with the palpitations and sickness. I have been laying in bed since 5am today with really strong palpatation and dizziness, nausea and my hands are painful when I try to make a fist.
Any ideas or is it normal. Thanks all and keep safe

HiLenny1970. 2007 is a long time but I have endured a gambit of palpitations since the late 1970s so know how you feel. Of course the actual word ""palpitations" encompasses a myriad of arrhythmias including atrial tachycardia, atrial flutter, atrial fibrillation, premature atrial contraction or PACs, supraentricular tachycardia plus others. If you have experienced your particular palpitations since 2007 you will likely know all about the above. I frequently experienced extremely odd accompanying symptoms such as a type of jolt and electric shock down left arm, diminished or blurred vision for 15 mins, numbness in hand , sweats etc. Quite frightening if in the middle of night. Also those quick runs of about 30 beats either steady or irregular. Can be started by an extra systole or in my case also certain foods such as strong cheese, chocolate or alcohol. I am on Amiodarone. Have had 2 ablations and seem clear of Afib but still get PACs. Lovely hear your story. Take care. Can still chat further and I may have answers to specific questions.
Hi I'm 49 Yr old woman too. I also had palpatations for a long time. I had 24 hr ecg which the nurse said was a normal result, so people feel them some don't she said but quite normal. So for years I would sit through palpatations once maybe twice a month some lasting hours. Then last August I felt really achey a bit like the aches when you get flu. I went to the docs and he sent me up to hospital as he said he couldn't get my BP as my heart was racing too fast. He said it might be nothing but to be on the safe side. I arrived was taken straight through to resus room, which was scary! But they have all the right ecg machines etc in there. They tried different things to try to get heartrate down and then said they could give me a drug but would make me feel funny. I was a bit nervous as I suffer anxiety anyway. But thd doc said it would only stay in my system 10 seconds. I thought ok I can do 10 seconds. So with ecgs etc all hooked up they gave me adenosine into my cannula and yes it does make you feel funny but wow heart rate went straight back to normal!!! Then after a few hours I was allowed home. They said it was svt some ppl get it and nvr get it again and some do I was to give it 10 minutes if it happened again and then go back to A&E. Since then I gave had about another 6 visits to the hospital. I'm currently on bisoprolol 1.25mg and touch wood I haven't had a bout since January! I have had 24 hr BP and ecg monitors and echocardiogram too. Nothin wrong with structure of my heart only mitral valve doesn't close properly and let's a bit of blood flow bk into heart but common in mid age people. And ectopic heartbeat. Hope this helps and sorry for the essay. I have also thought... Menopause can cause palpatations
