In a dilemma. I saw a gp on Friday because I was having high blood pressure reading and headache and chest pains. Told me to go to A&E. When I seen by the triage nurse who was rude to me. (Saying long time no see.) The nurse I haven't seen in many years. She didn't even listen to me. They did a ECG. And left me in the waiting room with 10 other people, which is small . No social distancing. For 2 hrs so I left. Didn't even phone to see where I have gone. No medication from gp. U get better treatment and service if you got corona.

It is a shame you didn’t stay and see the process through. Your doctor would not have sent you to A&E without good reason. It is not an instant process and there is usually lots going on behind the scenes organising the next stage in the process and walking out would not be helpful.

You will not get medication without a thorough investigation first as different conditions need different treatment.

Go back to A&E, apologise for leaving and hope that they are willing to continue with their investigations.

Take care.

You need to go back. I stupidly put my first pains off for 10 days. Until it happened again in a short space of time. I’m 46 they assume I had 3 heart attacks because of the episodes. I eventually phoned for a ambulance as I knew what it was. The next day I went for a dye test knowing I had a heart attack thinking I would be getting stents while I was in the cath lab. But after I was informed that I possibly needed a bypass. So then I had to wait 2 days for the consultants to discuss my condition. I was never as frightened in my whole life. I eventually got my stents a few days later. In fact 6 weeks ago today. Please take yourself back to a&e I wish I had of when I was told. Good luck.

Hi Poppy

Just a thought the comment Long time no see, could of come from reading your notes from a past visit ? When you say I saw a GP on Friday was that your GP ?? and was it Friday you went to A & E ? Only trying to help. You aren't fixed yet so you need to continue on your journey of investigation.

Stay Well

Stay Safe

Oh heck. I'm so glad to hear you went to the GP and then onto A&E - but not glad the nurse was snarky, and in plain honesty she probably went around rolling her eyes 'Oh that one's back again, perpetual moaner...' when you didn't deserve that kind of bad attitude from her or any other medical professional. I hate to say this about an NHS hero but she may have passed her 'that one is just a moaner' attitude along and that's partly why you weren't seen immediately. NHS heroes are people, they have bad days just like the rest of us, and there are some who see some patients as 'time wasters'.

My cardiac nurse did. Of course once she saw my echo she no longer thought I was a time waster but she still didn't like me and didn't mind letting me know she didn't. Big woo - she was otherwise completely professional once she got a look at my echo and realised 'Oh. She really is unwell!'. Because she pulled herself together and applied her professional skill, I was sent straight into the cardiologist and honestly, I haven't felt this good in decades.

It's a big ask after you were subjected to her unprofessional behaviour - and personally I'd make a point of telling the GP and whatever ombudsmen is responsible for 'patient concerns' - but, you need to go back to the GP and be referred again to A&E. Soon - you really need to have the hypertension investigated as soon as possible.

If you do go back and Nurse Ratchet turns up as your admit nurse, look her in the eye and remind her your GP sent you there for a reason, she doesn't have to like you but she bl--dy well has to keep her personal opinion about you to herself, and get on with her day job - being an A&E nurse vowed to care for patients.

Er, sorry for the rant. Well done you going to the GP and trying to get this sorted. Keep us updated, please.
