Hello and welcome to the forum! With this condition it is essential to maintain a healthy blood pressure to reduce the risk of hemorrhagic stroke.
Amlodipine is a CCI (Calcium Channel Inhibitor) which reduces blood pressure by dilation of the blood vessels (it also reduces angina). Other potential medications are ACE Inhibitors, ARBs and diuretics.
As this is a support group nobody here can advise you on the appropriate medication. You need to go with the advice of your GP and/or Stroke Consultant.
Hello
I had a AVM that started to Bleed back in 2004 I had the choice of Embolising, or Surgery or Radio Surgery, Embolising didn't work so I opted for, Gamma Knife.
I was lucky it took 11 years before it was deemed to have been obliterated. Which I know because the Heart Surgeon was not willing to carry out an Open Heart procedure without the Neuro Surgeons giving it in Writing that it would be safe to administer Heparin. So she wanted to be sure so an MRI, which showed it had shrunk to almost nothing.
I take Entresto, Bisoprolol, Aspirin, Eplerenone, Statin.
Without any problems. You really need to consult your Neuro Dept to enquire what is safe !!
Hope that helps a little, different conditions but I believe similar Treatment options.
I was lucky ! in that my neuro surgeon said if I could put my finger through my Right Ear I would be able to touch it.
He also said it's in a Parking Lot with Nothing Surrounding it so lets Zap it. I was in the US at the time !!
Stay Well Stay Safe
