Very high heart rate

Greetings,

I am 36 years old male with normal body weight and without any known condition. Some years ago I found out that I am a carrier of a rare genetic mutation which can lead to cardiomyopathy. We were surprised since no one has ever had heart issues or dies suddenly in our family. So far I am disease free. I have noticed that the smallest thing I do my heart rate goes crazy high immediately. For example if I go our running my heart rate can climb to over 190 bpm. I get tired and out of breath very fast, but no chest pain. If I stop it does come down within seconds max 1 min. Do you find such high rate as normal? I have a fitbit which shows that throughout 24 hr my resting heart rate is around 67. I am afraid to do the smallest activity because as I said the heart rate goes immediately high. Any recommendations? Thank you

If your FitBit is accurate I would advise contacting your GP. It usually takes 10 - 20 minutes for the HR to return to normal after exercise. If I were you I would not exercise more than walking till you have spoken to your GP!

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. Sorry if I was not clear earlier. What I meant was that when I stop exercising the heart rate will start decreasing within seconds but indeed it take few minutes of calming down till it reaches the norm, is not like sudden drop. What I am mostly concert is such high elevation without much activity. For example last week I plaid as goalkeeper, which mostly consists of doing few moves around your area and my heart rate was on 180 -185. Or if I go out for a walk my heart rate will be on 110 average, slow walking and 125-130 on fast walking but not running.

Hi, reading this post and I have very similar. I am a 30 year old female and describe myself as fit and healthy. When I run ( and I love running) my heart rate increases very quickly and sits between 180 - 200 ( sometimes over it 200!) - I also get light dizziness.

I have beta blockers for any strenuous exercise.
