Posthorax vest.

Good day all

My husband had a triple valve bypass.

We are wondering if it is allowed for him to sleep without his Posthorax vest?

Hello - I'd never heard of a posthorax vest until I saw your post! After my triple bypass, there was no mention of any special support required night or day. The operation was 8 months ago and everything has healed very well.

Hello and welcome to the forum.! The vest is intended to be worn until the breastbone is completely healed, usually 6 - 8 weeks. It should be worn all the time except when washing/showering. Their use is decided upon on an individual basis. When I did rehab one person had an unstable breastbone - trust me he does not want to go there...
