I'm not sure if it's got as far as being listed as a condition that makes one susceptible, but I think there's building evidence that it doesn't help. Anecdotally, think there's a correlation between common high blood pressure in China & the complications rate there.
Personally I'd err on the side of caution, and if your employer isn't convinced by the listings, maybe get telephone advice from a cardio doc, about whether you can be at work or not. Take care
