Heart rate

I’ve been monitoring on my Apple Watch. My resting heart rate sometimes goes to 55bpm and sometimes for a few seconds (like about 10 mins ago) will jump up to 134bpm for a few seconds. When that was happening I could feel like a cramp in my chest briefly.

Is this normal? I’m not feeling any pain overall. I’m just assuming this is drug side effects kind of a deal?

I’m on Bisoprolol. I don’t want to increase anything unnecessarily as it rarely happens.

As long as my health is good enough at least I can live with it.

With this being so new though? I’m obviously in that “everything is a sign” mindset.

I’m a bit wary of non-chest strap monitor accuracy. My ear piece one often briefly notes something weird like 150-160, and if I check my pulse, it isn’t that high. And my Apple Watch is new so I don’t know yet, but I assume it’s “approximate”.

For me, I try not to think about it unless an unexpected heart rate is sustained for quite a while.

However, a cramp in your chest is a specific symptom and something I’d definitely want to talk to doc about??

I have an Apple Watch, sometimes it does this when it can’t read your wrist properly. Sometimes you do get a fluke reading. Especially if you take your pulse the manual way (neck/ wrist) when this happens and you can feel it isn’t at 155 bpm.

If your having increased periods of brachycardia or tachycardia then I would ask for a 24hr ecg holter.

I’m on 10mg bisoprolol and I do now have a much lower resting heart rate but they advised as long as it’s not below 50bpm , then they would look to cut the dosage.

Anything that’s not normal for you and happening I would just ask for advice.

Take care
