Why do we ask the question " I have this that or the other am I Vulnerable. I believe I have this correct But open to correction
If you have had Surgery you are sure to be a little more Vulnerable to the effects of Coronavirus should you be unfortunate to catch it, or anything else doing the rounds.
BUT I don't personally believe unless you are currently ill you don't have anymore chance of catching it than anyone else. Would that be a correct analysis ??

Hi Your thoughts are very welcome. I suppose to a certain extent it describes why we have the " Worried Well " that's if I have understood it correctly.
I'm not medically trained but I think the reason for the need for people with conditions currently managed medically to the point of not being acute to take this very-very seriously is without the medication the condition would revert to acute and very possibly become life-threatening.
I think the quickest way to illustrate is to use a 'chronic but controlled condition' example: I ask you consider this hypothetical but likely situation - someone with hypertension perfectly controlled with medication and lifestyle regimes.
The hypertensive contracts the virus - the condition is stressed by the body's attempt to combat the virus, possibly to the point of tipping the person over into a critical condition despite the medication.
Or - the combined regimes slip during the hypertensive feeling the first stages of the illness. The hypertension is no longer as well controlled...and the hypertensive slips into a critical stage thanks to the medication and lifestyle regime no longer being as strictly followed.
Or - the medication(s) keeping the hypertension controlled become difficult to obtain (supply chain failure owing to border lock-downs, no-one to deliver the medication to the hypertensive). The condition then is no longer controlled and the hypertensive slips into a critical condition.
