Hi. Im 64 and now suffer with heart failure (less than 30% output) after being a lucky survivor of a Cardiac Arrest two years ago. I believe Coronavirus causes Myocarditis, which is inflammation of the heart muscle, causing inability to pump. It’s a potentially devastating condition apparently that can cause instant death. It therefore sounds like I should avoid catching Coronavirus like the plague? Any thoughts?
Fortunately (sadly) I live like a recluse anyway as I also suffer with pretty severe ME/Cfs (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). The lack of energy prevents me from getting out much and also from exercising, which is another worry with having a weak heart. Basically I feel screwed! 😟

Sorry to hear that,i also have heart failure which I took 6 yrs ago.Im lucky enough to still go my power walks feel as you said trying to keep heart strong.ive given up on watching my Grandkids for the moment and also may need my Husband to live with my Daughter until this passes.Such worrying times indeed
I was diagnosed with myocarditis Jan 5th. Unpleasant but I was put on colchcine an anti-inflammatory for 3 months. I have a couple more weeks meds left but feel fine. However I was diagnosed with AF 2 weeks ago after an af episode but fortunately I'm again fine now. They couldn't say if the two conditions were connected. However I really am ok. The nhs are wonderful. I feel I also need to do my bit and apart from popping to get the odd essential from my local shop - no mixing with hoards in the supermarket for me, I'm social distancing. I have my first book published on Amazon (at 71) and using my time to write more. Stay safe
