It can be mistaken for the condition that I live with Vasospastic angina. It was once thought to be at first the cause of my problems however my echocardiogram was normal.
Both conditions can lead to severe chest pain, ST elevations on an ECG and raised Troponin levels.
The heart changes shape to look like a Japanese lobster pot hence the name.
There are few people on the forum who live with Takosubo Cardiomyopathy and I am sure they will be along to share their experiences with you.
What a coincidence I am going to be taken part in Prof Dawson’s study. In fact I started before I left hospital on Friday 😀.
Hi there. I’ve just read your post. Have you suffered an event or were you researching them? I had a TTS event 4 weeks ago.
