Just recently I recived a letter telling me that my heart problem is a type of long rp tachycardia they dont know which one yet. I was wondering what kind of symptoms you get? Like, does your mind get foggy?

Also, my work place keeps asking me about first aid - what could be a first aid procedure for someone expereincing SVT?

Regarding first aid, preforming the Valsalva Manoeuvre may revert the heart rhythm to normal - it worked for me on second attempt when I was 210 bpm for 90 minutes! There is a modified Valsalva Manoeuvre as well but this is probably best left to trained professionals. Take a normal surgical syringe, (no needle!!) and try blowing hard into the aperture. If no syringe to hand, try imagining there is and doing the same - 'bearing down' as if struggling to defacate. Or hold your nose, keep mouth closed and blow hard. Keep up for 12-15 seconds.

Try posting in the AF forum—you’ll get a lot more answers. SVT for me is extremely sudden and terrifying. Heart in low to mid 200s. Google how to do the valsalva maneuver
