Hi, I’ve been moved from metoprolol to Nebivolol for sinus tachycardia. 3 days after stopping 35mg pd Metoprolol and taking 5mg pd Nebivolol my hr and blood pressure are raised not lowered. Perhaps a rebound effect for stopping Metoprolol I don’t know.
Does anybody know if it takes time for Nebivolol to kick in? I don’t want to go back to Metoprolol because of the side effects.
My bisoprolol dose was recently increased to lower my heart rate. It is a beta blocker like your drug.
I read that it takes a week and changes can be seen in 24 hours.
Don’t worry, they are fast acting drugs.

Thank you, it did work just about when the dose went up to 7.5mg.
However I've been on beta blockers for 4 months, this is my fourth type and they all make me feel ill with anxiety making things worse.
So ill recently that I've been off work for 3 weeks, I've had enough of these horrible BBs and tailing off this week to try to stop next. (with the help of benzodiazepines during the process)
I'm hoping that without meds my high heart rate and palpitations will be manageable with breathing, meditation, getting fitter. Otherwise I'm very reluctantly going to move on to the next thing which I guess is calcium channel blockers.
One piece of good news, a bit of 70% chocolate each day is good for the heart!

They are definately a hard powerful drug to tolerate. I get brain fog. My memory isn't what it was and I struggle to find a work mid conversation. I also get confused and forget a point I am making.
I am also on benzodiazepines. Be careful with these. It is easy to be tempted to up the dose and become dependent. They work similar to alcohol, you just have to keep increasing the dose.
Yes try breathing and meditation. There are apps available in the NHS website that can help you with this.
I just finished my Qigong - Zhan Zhauang - Yoga routine. I also swim. The relaxing feeling walking out of the pool after swimming is nice.
Post exercise euphoria.
Check out "Endocannabinoid System", it explains a lot and a lot of people are not aware that we have this and the functions it controls in our body.
Good luck my friend! "If You're Going Through Hell Keep Going"
